What we ask, and why.
Their name
First name is enough, and how it sounds if it is unusual. You will see exactly how we will sing it before anything is recorded.
The occasion
Birthday, anniversary, wedding, Mother’s or Father’s Day, just because, friendship, in memory, new baby, graduation, or something else. The occasion sets the tone of every later question.
Who it is for, and who it is from
Who they are to you, then the names that sign the song.
What they are like
A dozen chips and a line or two. The specific beats the flattering every time: “stubborn” and “sings the wrong words to the radio” make a better song than “amazing”.
The memory
One real moment, in your words. This is the verse people cry at. We nudge you if it is too short to sing.
The thing they always say
A phrase, sung word for word. The single most quoted line in reviews of custom songs.

One sentence, if there is one. It becomes the bridge.
How it should sound
A vibe (acoustic, pop, country, soul, piano, lullaby and more), a mood or two, a voice. We pre-select something that fits and you can change it. If you like, an artist as a direction for the feel: we never copy a voice or a song.

One email, then the recording
We ask for an email so we can send you the link if you close the tab. The recording takes about two minutes and you watch each stage: the name rehearsal, the key and tempo, take A, take B, the automatic check.
Hear it, then pay
45 seconds of both takes with the full lyrics. If it works, one payment and the files are yours in the same minute. If it does not, close the tab and nothing is charged.

What happens next.
Your song page opens with both takes, the MP3 and WAV, the lyric sheet and the gift page set-up. You can schedule the gift for the morning of the day, add a note and a photo, and we tell you when they press play.
If a word is wrong, you point at the line and tell us. Name, pronunciation and fact fixes are free, always. We re-record only that line where the tools allow it; otherwise we record a new take in the same style. Your original is never deleted.

How long does it take?
About three minutes to answer the questions, a minute to read the lyrics, and the recording takes around two minutes. Most people press play on the real song inside ten minutes of starting. There is no rush fee because there is nothing to rush.
Will you pronounce the name right?
The first step asks how the name sounds, and the lyric sheet shows you exactly how it will be sung (“Siobhán, sung as shi-VAWN”) before anything is recorded. Every take is checked automatically for the name. If it is still wrong, name fixes are free, always, with no limit.
What if I don’t love it?
You hear 45 seconds of both takes before you pay, so you only buy it if it already works. After purchase:
